We've been hit with some crazy weather here in Portland lately! In total we've had to miss over a week of work because of snow and ice. I won't lie, it really is nice to work from home (in your pajamas), and I honestly get so much more done when I'm not in the office.
All that being said, and taking the Christmas/New Year holiday into account, I've been thinking long and hard about continuing on my blogging journey. I've decided that I want to do more of what is true to me and write and invest time in things that aren't so outfit post focused, and go a bit deeper into my passions. Yes, there will still be outfit posts, but I don't want to feel so constrained to just those. I always seem to get a lot of feedback via Instagram Stories and Snapchat, so feel free to shoot me a message letting me know what you want to see more of this year!
Kicking off spring 2017 at SOREL, we've got a lot of neat things in the works with travel involved. Ryan and I are also planning on heading back to Saint John in May and I couldn't be more excited to already have a vacation in the works.
I've been in Portland going on 4 years now, doing the same thing, and I feel a needed change coming on. My career has always been so important to me, and I learned early on that job security and happiness in my current role is always key. Relying solely on blogging was never something that I wanted to do, as opposed to climbing the corporate ladder (yeah, I know that sound weird coming from a millennial). I've never been afraid to step up or move across the country for new opportunities, hence how I ended up in Portland in the first place. 2013-2014 were years of learning in my career, 2015-2016 were years of proving, and 2017 is my year to own it and I'm going to take it full force :)
